General Description: 5 Pediatrician practice within a Federally Qualified Community Health Center. The practice includes Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dental, Farmworker/Migrant Health, Pharmacy, and Nutrition. The health center has 8 clinical sites and 9 school based sites.
Office/hospital duties: Primarily located at one office with hours 8:30am 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Health center is closed on weekends and holidays. May cover other offices during vacations. Rounds at the hospital every other week which includes Level II nursery and inpatient pediatrics. Emergency department calls only if patient needs admission. Precepting of 3rd or 4th year medical students.
Patient characteristics: Usually 18-20 patients per day with seasonal variations. Patients with varied cultural and racial backgrounds. Proficiency with Spanish language is a plus but not necessary.
Call: Currently 1:6. Shared with 1 other practice in Beaufort, SC. Must live within 30 minutes of Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved DO or MD school of medicine
Completion of a Pediatric residency program
Either Board Certifi ed or Board Eligible
South Carolina licensure (or eligible for licensure) authorized by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners
DEA & state controlled substance certificate required
Hospital privileges required
