Job Despcription: Will Hire New Grads!POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical therapist organizes and carries out physical therapy programs in the hospital for inpatients or outpatients, to facilitate the rehabilitation of the mentally or physically handicapped. The staff PT provides direct patient focused care to include physical therapy evaluations and quality treatment with short and long term goals determined by the patients needs. The staff PT may work with any /all patients of the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Infants (age 0-18 months), Children (age 19 months-12 years), Adolescents (age 13 years â"17 years), Adults (age 18 years â" 64 years), and Geriatrics (age 65+ years). All PTs are required to have competency for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Therapists who will work with children or infants less than 13 years will require specific training and competencies demonstrated prior to working with pediatrics . The staff PT also assists the director of the department in the supervision of support staff, quality assurance and improvement activities and the overall operation of the rehabilitation department. The staff physical therapist is required to perform the professional duties and standards of care as specified by the American Physical Therapy Association, state and federal laws and regulations, and JCAHO standards. Policy requires compliance with the regulations set forth by: 1. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 45 CFR, Part 80, Section 80.6 (b) (c).2. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, 45 CFR, Part 84, Section (b) (1) (VI).3. T.C.A. 1200-8-16-.02 (14). 4. Americans with Disabilities Act, July 1990.5. Position may interact with all ages of patients, guests, staff, and others. Job Requirements: Will Hire New-Grads!EDUCATION:B.S. or M.S. in phyiscal therapy from an accredited program. Must be able to read and write English. EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred but new graduates are acceptable. Candidate must have current licensure or be eligible to apply for licensure in the state of South Carolina.SKILLS: a. Candidate needs to have effective oral and written communication skills with all age groups and educational levels.b. Candidate needs to have good organizational and problem solving skills and takes responsibility for own actions.c. Candidate emphasizes excellence in patient care and customer relations. Candidate must be able to interact with all age groups, educational levels, and people with medical or cognitive problems in an effective, pleasant, courteous, and respectful manner.d.
