Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, NY Mill is located on the shores of Lake Champlain. In operation since 1971, the mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests. We employ over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production.
The Warehouse Area Manager is responsible for managing the safe operation of all warehouse duties including the loading, shipping, and receiving of finished goods and other finishing materials, along with maintaining accurate inventory records. The Warehouse Area Manager is also responsible for working with the Warehouse and Shipping Coordinator to prioritize planned shipments through the Shipping Activity Management (SAM) portal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads and directs daily activities of the shipping department, including productivity, quality, service, and on-time delivery in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe, clean, productive environment. Promotes safety and housekeeping by following established safety rules and procedures.
  • Manages and coordinates daily activities for all three shifts in the shipping department.
  • Works closely with customer service department, production planning, finishing, accounting and sales to ensure full customer satisfaction.
  • Manages all warehouse space to best service of our customers
  • Manages Returned Goods process.
  • Maintains the integrity of finished goods inventory inside the facility. Works closely with accounting and customer service to ensure accuracy of data. Responsible for tracking inventory.
  • Organize and direct warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives and set targets.
  • Manage and minimize carrier delays and demurrage.
  • Implement cost reduction principles in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities.
  • Run Daily/Monthly reports through PPR WebApps
Requirements:
  • 2+years of experience in a Paper Mill or Manufacturing Facility
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety and environmental excellence
  • Proven leadership skills, and be an asset to the PS&D Management team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in PPR/Omega, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and manufacturing leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate and present to a broad array of people
  • Must be self-directed in job role and skill development
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills, with demonstrated use of manufacturing excellence tools and computer tools for trending analysis
