Under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular services, supervises the performance of all departme! ntal staff. Must be knowledgeable in the field of adult, pediatric and infant respiratory care, cardiac rehab and non invasive cardiac testing such as echo and ekg. Exhibits knowledge of pulmonary function testing and blood gas lab.
Must be familiar with various types of equipment used in the department. Must have a working knowledge of scheduling, staffing, inventory control and budget. Is responsible for the supervision of quality control/quality improvement within the department. Is expected to function with initiative and utilize independent judgment. Must be able to communicate effectively and execute actions which assure quality patient care.
Is responsible for assuring that all individuals in the department who are responsible for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients are competent to deliver care appropriate to the ages of patients served: i.e. infant, toddler, child adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Assures that these individuals demonst! rate the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms ! of the patient's needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development, and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patients.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Licensure: Current SC Respiratory Care Practitioner License. RRT, Basic Life Support, ACLS.
Education: Graduate of Respiratory Care Program accredited by the Joint Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education (JRCTE). Degree Preferred.
Experience: Three to five years management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Other Attributes: Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet program preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Able to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.
