Job Title: Occupational Therapist Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited occupational therapy program 2. Valid South Carolina Occupational Therapy License 3. Minimum of three years experience in pediatric occupational therapy 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable Reports To: Compliance and Monitoring Coordinator for Low Incidence/Satellite Programs Job Goal:
The person in this position evaluates students' needs, develops and implements therapy programs, provides consultative services to school personnel and families, and manages occupational therapy programs in accordance with the philosophy, laws, rules, and regulations of the district
Performance Responsibilities: 1. Provide direct occupational therapy to students across school locations 2. Evaluate, plan, implement, and reevaluate an appropriate program ! for students requiring occupational therapy treatment 3. Instr! uct the student and/or teacher in the use of functional and adaptive equipment and devices 4. Demonstrate techniques and theories of occupational practice 5. Maintain records of student progress 6. Maintain Medicaid records 7. Participate in educational planning and placement committees 8. Provide training to the appropriate persons regarding effective methods to aid the mainstreamed disabled student upon request 9. Design and construct adaptive equipment and devices for the student and/or the classroom 10. Attend staff development and professional seminars and meetings to upgrade or maintain professional skills 11. Assist with assessment and procurement of therapy-based equipment 12. Perform any other duties, as deemed necessary, by Compliance and Monitoring Coordinator
Terms of Employment: 9.5 month position Evaluation : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board’s Policy.
