Plans, directs and administers the implementation of a system for pediatric care, data collection, analysis of pediatric trauma and promotion of emergency medical services. Prepares g! uidelines for designation of pediatric trauma centers. Develops triage and transfer guidelines. Develops strategy for implementation of regional systems for pediatric trauma care. Coordinates regional training courses to include pediatric trauma. Supervises the development and implementation of a system for surveillance of pediatric trauma and illness. Provides guidance to the data consultant in developing data needs and areas for analysis. Works with all interested persons and organizations in implementing the strategy for regional pediatric trauma care. Conducts meetings with medical providers and staff of other agencies. Supervises the implementation of training programs to meet the specific needs of pediatric trauma. Works with PIER Program to promote injury prevention programs and to promote the Emergency Medical Services profession. Maintains a current up-to-date record on what has occurred in the grant relating to both budgets and objectives. Develops quarterly and m! iscellaneous reports. Assist the DHEC Emergency Operations Cen! ter with disaster training/drills or declared emergencies during an actual disaster. This position is subject to 24-hour on-call status during a declared emergency.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Candidate must have a bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in health related field. Must have knowledge & abilities related to emergency medical services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in grant writing, special project implementation, coalition building and a working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in an EMS related field. Must have the ability to travel in-state and out-of-state to attend and conduct meetings for diverse groups of program participants.
